Use the CAAM Coupon and Ad Builders

The Coupon and Ad Builders in Creative Approval and Asset Management (CAAM) are where you can build and submit ads / coupons for Kroger Precision Marketing (KPM) Managed Service and Incentives Campaigns.

LCM / Bonus LCM Coupon Builder

You can use the Coupon Builder to build and submit coupons for Incentives Campaigns.

Access Coupon Builder

  1. From the CAAM Dashboard, click LCM / Bonus LCM, then find your event.

  2. Click on the Nomination Description to see all the coupons for that selected event.

  3. Find the coupon you want to build (for example, add creative and coupon details).

This action opens the Coupon Builder.

In the Coupon Builder, all included divisions appear in bold at the top of the page.

Build a nomination coupon

Some information is automatically populated from 84.51° Prism (Coupon Header, Coupon Value, Required Number of Units, and Expiration Date).

You can't change these, but you can update the wording for the Required Number of Units.

  1. Enter the Coupon Wording exactly how you want it to appear on the coupon.

  2. Upload a Pack Shot A picture you want to include on the coupon, usually of the product or your company's logo. or select an existing one from the CAAM Asset Library.

    Pack Shots should be minimum 900 x 900 px at 72 dpi.

    • In the File Manager, click Upload.

    • Click Browse to select your file.

    • Enter a unique File Name including the template size.

    • Select Pack Shot from the Asset Type list.

    • (Optional) Enter the Brand Name.

    • (Optional) Enter the image Description.

    • (Optional) Enter any linked SKUs.

    • (Optional) Enter the Asset Active Date and Asset Expiration Date.

    • Click Upload File.

      The upload was successful when you see a preview of your image.

    • Click Apply.

  3. Enter the Brand and Item Name.

    This name is used to create a short coupon description.

  4. Select a Barcode Type (Direct Mail) and enter information into the blank field.

    You can select Kroger Generated to use a Kroger Generated Barcode.

  5. Enter in the Barcode (Email).

  6. Enter the Legal Copy (Direct Mail).

  7. (Optional) Enter the Legal Copy (Till).

  8. Click Save.

  9. Repeat above steps as needed for additional coupons, clicking Save after each.

    If there are multiple coupon versions for the Nomination, build each version and save prior to submitting.

  10. Click View Proof / Submit to review.

  11. When finished, click Submit.

After submitting a coupon or ad, you can no longer edit it unless you make a Change Request. Once submitted, the coupon or add is sent to 84.51° for approval.

KPM Ad Builder

You can use the KPM Ad Builder to build and submit creatives for Targeted Digital Coupons, Display Ads, and Email Modules.

While intake for Targeted Digital Coupons is done via Managed Service, they are classified as Best Customer Communications.

Access Ad Builder

  1. From the CAAM Dashboard, click KPM.

  2. Find the Campaign you want to build (for example, add creative).

    You can also access your Campaign via a link sent to you in the notification email.

  3. Click on the Campaign Name.

This action opens the Ad Builder.

Build Premium Placements

Premium Placements (formerly, On-Site Ads) use the Creative Library, housed in the Kroger Ad Platform for creatives.

Build a Targeted Digital Coupon

For Targeted Digital Coupons, the Ad Builder provides static information about the ad, a Tool Palate to upload flat art images, and a preview of the ad in real time.

Some information is automatically populated from 84.51° Prism (Expiration Date, Coupon Header, Required Number of Units, and State Restrictions).

  1. Enter the Brand name associated with your offer.

  2. Enter the Item Name.

  3. Enter the Coupon Wording exactly how you want it to appear on the coupon.

  4. Click Upload Image to add a new Pack Shot or to select an existing one from the CAAM Asset Library.

    Pack Shots should be minimum 900 x 900 px at 72 dpi.

    • In the File Manager, click Upload.

    • Click Browse to select your file.

    • Enter a unique File Name including the template size.

    • Select Pack Shot from the Asset Type list.

    • (Optional) Enter the Brand Name.

    • (Optional) Enter the image Description.

    • (Optional) Enter any linked SKUs.

    • (Optional) Enter the Asset Active Date and Asset Expiration Date.

    • Click Upload File.

      The upload was successful when you see a preview of your image.

  5. Enter a Receipt Description with 13 characters or less (for example, if the item is Kroger Peanut Butter, enter "Krgr PB").

  6. Click Save.

  7. Repeat above steps as needed for additional creative, clicking Save after each.

    If the Targeted Digital Coupon has multiple versions, build each version and save, prior to submitting.

  8. Click View Proof / Submit to review.

  9. When finished, click Submit.

After submitting a coupon or ad, you can no longer edit it unless you make a Change Request. Once submitted, the coupon or add is sent to 84.51° for approval.

Build a Display Ad

For Display Ads, the Ad Builder provides static information about the ad, a Tool Palate to upload flat art images, and a preview of the ad in real time.

These options apply to all Banner Groups and Divisions.

  1. Select a Banner Logo heading.

  2. Select a Call to Action.

  3. Click Upload Image to add a new or to select an existing one from the CAAM Asset Library.

    • In the File Manager, click Upload.

    • Click Browse to select your file.

    • Enter a unique File Name including the template size.

    • Select KPM Image from the Asset Type list.

    • (Optional) Enter the Brand Name.

    • (Optional) Enter the image Description.

    • (Optional) Enter any linked SKUs.

    • Click Upload File.

      The upload was successful when you see a preview of your image.

    Display Ad images meet the following specifications:

    • Resolution: 72 dpi

    • Format: .jpg

    • Color Mode: RGB

    • File Size: < 150 kb

  4. In the Tool Palate, select the Template Size from the drop down.

  5. Refresh your images in the Image Library to see any images you already uploaded.

  6. Drag the image from the Image Library to the Preview Screen.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Repeat the above process with each template size, clicking Save after each image is placed.

  9. Click View Proof / Submit to review.

  10. When finished, click Submit.

After submitting a coupon or ad, you can no longer edit it unless you make a Change Request. Once submitted, the coupon or add is sent to 84.51° for approval.

Build an Email Module

For Email Modules, the Ad Builder provides static information about the ad and a preview of the ad in real time.

  1. Enter a Headline.

  2. Enter the Body Copy.

  3. Select a Call to Action.

  4. Upload a KPM Image or select an existing one from the CAAM Asset Library.

    • In the File Manager, click Upload.

    • Click Browse to select your file.

    • Enter a unique File Name including the template size.

    • Select KPM Image from the Asset Type list.

    • (Optional) Enter the Brand Name.

    • (Optional) Enter the image Description.

    • (Optional) Enter any linked SKUs.

  5. Select Upload File.

    When you see a preview of the image, click Apply.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Click View Proof / Submit to review.

  8. When finished, click Submit.

After submitting a coupon or ad, you can no longer edit it unless you make a Change Request. Once submitted, the coupon or add is sent to 84.51° for approval.

Request a change

A coupon or ad is locked after it is submitted to 84.51° for approval unless you submit a change request.

  1. Find and open the coupon or ad that needs to be changed.

  2. Click View Proof / Submit.

  3. Click Change Requests to open the change request history box.

  4. Click Request Change.

  5. Enter the reason for the change, then click Submit.

You'll receive an email regarding approval. If approved, the coupon or ad will be unlocked for changes. If denied, the coupon or ad will remain locked.
